The most fun and festive strawberry dessert ever is also the easiest. All you need for these filled strawberries is five ingredients and 15 minutes. The creamy red, white, and blue bites are a no-cook, must-make treat. Scoop out the center of strawberries—and trim their bottoms so they stand flat. Combine cream cheese with confectioners’ sugar and vanilla, then pipe that mixture into each strawberry. Top each with a blueberry and serve. They’re so good that you might want to double the recipe—especially if you’re feeding a crowd at a July 4th or Memorial Day cookout.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

  • 4 teaspoons confectioners' sugar

  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 12 strawberries, hulled

  • 12 small blueberries

Directions

  1. Combine cream cheese, confectioner's sugar, and vanilla:

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

  2. Fill piping bag with mixture:

Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a 1/2-inch star tip.

  3. Trim and scoop out strawberries:

Trim 1/2-inch from bottom of each strawberry so that it sits flat. Use a small melon baller to scoop out the center of each berry.

  4. Pipe cream cheese mixture into berries, garnish and chill:

Pipe cream cheese mixture into strawberries until it brims over the tops. Finish each strawberry with a blueberry garnish.

Make Ahead

We don't recommend making these filled strawberries too far ahead before serving, but you can assemble them up to two hours ahead. Cover them lightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator.
