And it seems as though our founder isn't the only fan of this breed—the American Kennel Club (AKC) just announced that the French Bulldog is the most popular dog in America. This is the second year in a row the French Bulldog has secured the top spot as America's favorite pooch. In 2022, the Labrador Retriever held this title for an impressive 31-years until it was dethroned, according to a statement by the AKC. French Bulldogs are beloved for their playful, smart, and adaptable nature. The breed is also easy to bring anywhere and is a great companion for a variety of lifestyles. This trait makes the French Bulldog a perfect fit for Martha, whose active lifestyle keeps her constantly on the go. Martha welcomed Luna Moona into her home about two weeks ago, introducing the newest member of her family in an Instagram post. "Luna moona is the latest addition to the family she is a fabulous Frenchie with a superb personality," Martha captioned the post. According to Martha, Luna Moona is acclimating wonderfully since being introduced to the rest of her pets, including Bete Noire, Martha's senior French Bulldog. "Having acclimated in a lovely way everyone adores her even the chows and the older big sister Frenchies," Martha wrote on social media. Martha's love of French Bulldogs is a testament to the breed's growing popularity. According to the AKC, the breed has steadily grown in registration ranking over the past 11 years, moving from No. 14 in 2012 to No. 1 in 2022. To determine the most popular dog breeds in America, the AKC reviews its registration statistics and identifies which breeds have the most registered members. Rounding out the top five as the most popular dog breeds in America are the Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd Dog, and Poodle respectively, according to the AKC.
