Approximately 16,243 pounds of raw ground beef products have been recalled by Cargill Meat Solutions due to possible E. coli contamination, according to the Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The ground beef products were sold at Walmart locations nationwide and produced on April 26 to 27. They were sold in both 1.33-pound and 2.75-pound plastic-wrapped trays. In total, six products are included in the recall with various lot codes and the establishment number EST. 86P, which can be found on the back of the label.

Per FSIS, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, but anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider. E. coli is a bacterium that can cause dehydration, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps about two to eight days after exposure.

The government agency is concerned that some recalled product may be in consumers' refrigerators or freezers. If you have purchased these products, FISIS is urging consumers to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Cargill Meat Solutions directly at 1-844-419-1574.
