Kirsten Nunez is a life-long creator and writer. In 2010, Kirsten Nunez created a DIY blog called Studs and Pearls. Her tutorials were featured in international editions of major magazines, including Cosmopolitan India and Allure South Korea. In 2014, she published a book, Studs & Pearls: 30 Creative Projects for Customized Fashion.

In the same year, Kirsten began writing DIY and health articles for Verily Magazine, allowing her to combine her love for DIY and education in health. Since then, her writing has expanded to include fitness and food as well.

Kirsten currently works as a full-time freelance journalist in the health and lifestyle space. Her work has appeared in both print and online publications, including Real Simple, Shape, Hunker, Healthline, POPSUGAR, mindbodygreen, SELF, and more.


Education

Kirsten graduated from the State University of New York College at Oneonta with a Bachelor's in Dietetics and a minor in Health and Wellness. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a health education internship at the YMCA, where she created nutrition and fitness lessons for members of the community. Kirsten was also a physical education researcher and president of the Food and Nutrition Association, the food service and dietetics organization at SUNY Oneonta. Following college, she graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Master's in Nutrition. She was a member of the Epsilon Omicron Epsilon Honor Society during her time at Texas Woman's University.
