We rate homemade ranch dressing over store bought, and you will too when you make our easy recipe. We're guessing you'll never go back to bottled after trying this infinitely tastier and better-for-you version. All you need to do is mix together buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Then whisk in garlic, thyme, and a pinch of cayenne. You can make a lower-fat version by swapping out the sour cream for Greek yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 ½ teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves

  • ¼ small garlic clove, minced

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

  • Coarse salt and ground pepper

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth. Whisk in thyme, garlic, and cayenne pepper. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
