Salad is a refreshing and nourishing dish to incorporate into your weekly lunch and dinner rotation. But if you purchase salad from Costco, you may want to check the packaging before using it. The company has announced an active recall of one of its popular pre-made salad products due to undeclared allergens.

The wholesale corporation informed customers of the recall via a letter sent to members who purchased the product. The subject of the recall is the company's Grain + Celery Salad. It was wrongly labeled as item #25247 Ancient Grain + Vegetable Salad. The incorrectly marked product may contain two undeclared allergens: soy and almonds.

The recalled product was distributed to 16 states across the U.S.: California, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.

If you have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds or soy, do not consume the product and return it to Costco for a full refund. "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Soy or Almonds run the risk of severe life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product," Costco's letter states.

For questions regarding this recall, contact Costco at 800-774-2678, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT, or Saturday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
